1/2 MARATHON

This course consists of 3 loops - the Outer Loop, the Inner Loop and the Lake Loop.

LOOP 1 - THE OUTER LOOP

Starting at 9am at the North (Coffenbury) Lake Day-Use Area Shelter C, head north to the T at the tunnel, and go LEFT (East) on to the Sunset Trail, following the signs to “Shipwreck”.

Turn LEFT at the T at the Tunnel, towards “Shipwreck”.

Take the Sunset Trail 0.7 Miles to the Kestrel Dune Trail and turn RIGHT (North), following the signs towards “Battery Russell” and “Historic Area”. You will cross a street here, so be extra careful.

Continue on the Kestrel Dune Trail heading north for 1.9 miles and turn RIGHT (East) on the Trestle Bay Trail, following the signs to the “Historica Area”, “Battery Russell” & “Campground”.

After 1.1 miles of heading East on the Trestle Bay Trail you come to the Isaac Stevens Trial. From here, you have an out-and-back to the gate at the front of the Historic Area.

Turn LEFT here, and follow the path to the Historic Area. You will run .6 miles to the gate of the Historic Area, crossing over a bridge on your way. Once you reach the gate, turn around and return to the Trestle Bay / Isaac Stevens intersection. From there, go straight on the Isaac Stevens Trail heading South, following the signs to “Battery Russell”, “Campground” and “Coffenbury Lake”.

Shortly after you start on the Issac Stevens Trail youwill come to a “Y” in the road. Veer left to stay on the paved trail, avoiding the road straight ahead.

Follow Isaac Stevens trail 0.8 miles to where it intersects with the Battery Russell Trail, from here you will head directly towards the Historic Battery Russell. The Aid Station will direct you onto the Fort Stevens Ridge Trail for just over a mile.

The Fort Stevens Ridge Trail will take you all the way back to the T at the tunnel, which you will continue back to the Sunset Trail - NOT back to the day use area.

Follow the signs to “Coffenbury Lake” & “Shipwreck”, go under the tunnel, and back to the T at the Tunnel. From here, go straight, following the sign to “Shipwreck” again, and on to start the inner loop.

LOOP 2 - THE INNER LOOP

Take the Sunset Trail 0.7 Miles to the Kestrel Dune Trail and turn RIGHT, following the signs towards “Battery Russell” & “Historic Area”. You will cross a street again here, so be extra careful.

The Aid Station will direct you back on to the Ft Stevens Ridge Trail towards Coffenbury Lake.

Turn RIGHT from the Kestrel Dune Trail to head East on to the Battery Russell Trail.

This time, from the T at the tunnel, take a LEFT back towards the Start/Finish at the North Lake Day-Use Area, following the signs to “Coffenbury Lake”.

Follow the signs to “Coffenbury Lake” & “Shipwreck”, go under the tunnel, and back to the T at the Tunnel. From here, take a LEFT back to the Start/Finish area. Run past the Start/Finish area, on to the Coffenbury Lake Trail.

LOOP 3 - THE LAKE LOOP

You will run past the North Lake Day-Use Area A and run the trail around Coffenbury Lake clockwise.

Expect an out-and-back just over halfway, before you return to the Finish.


1/4 MARATHON

This course consists of 2 loops - the inner loop and the loop around the lake.

Follow the signs LEFT (West) to “Coffenbury Lake” & “Shipwreck”, go under the tunnel, and back to the T at the Tunnel. From here, take a LEFT back towards Coffenburry Lake.

LOOP 2 - THE LAKE LOOP

You will run past the North Lake Day-Use Area and run the trail around Coffenbury Lake clockwise.

Expect an out-and-back just over halfway, before you return to the Finish.


5 K

12 MILE RUCK CHALLENGE

$5 DAILY PARK PERMIT

You will be responsible for the $5 Daily Permit (per vehicle) required to park at the Hilltop Day-Use Area. They take cash and checks via Fee Envelope (provided by park). No cards accepted at this location - save for the main ranger station.

All of Bivouac Racing events are cupless - as is standard for most trail running events. There will be 2 aid stations on this course, but they are strictly B.Y.O.D.V (Bring Your Own Drinking Vessel)
